It's amazing how we can all look at the same things and often see them very differently. The best way to overcome that feeling is the realisation that not everyone sees friendship the same. If someone doesn't see you as a 'friend', doesn't mean they don't like you.

Re: Friend or Acquaintance?

Michelle - this is so true! I appreciate that users have the option of privacy settings, but am still concerned that some people will be very unaware of what it is that they are sharing with anyone that can see their full profile. There are plenty of users that allow their profile to be seen by anyone.

The OFFICIAL MBTI is only available (either online or in hard copy) to accredited MBTI practitioners who then debrief a client and interpret the results with them. Some of my previous posts here have been about my concerns that MBTI has somewhat become a victim of its own popularity. There are many sites where one can do a MBTI style "test" and results are given without anyone explaining what those results actually mean for them.

All that said, I am all for any tool that exposes MBTI to the world and starts a discussion about it and how it can (or should) be used!

Re: My Personality on facebook!

Hello, I run the myPersonality application on Facebook - thanks for featuring us. Regarding your concern about employers seeing a myPersonality user's result - there are two privacy settings that myPersonality users have when they take a personality test. The default is that only people who can view their full FB profile can also view their personality profile (i.e. their friends), and the other option is that users can set their results as "hidden" so that only they can see them. At no point should a potential employer be able to see an applicant's results.

Second, the official MBTI is available online (myPersonality actually provides a Big 5 personality test at its core). So with the proper information provided, it's possible for good online tests to be accurate and useful.

Re: Desiderata

My name is Piter Jankovich. oOnly want to tell, that your blog is really cool
And want to ask you: is this blog your hobby?
P.S.
